Harsh lighting? Diffuse thinning? What is going on..
Every day I'm stressing out as I just don't understand what's going on with my hair. I'm not worried about the hairline as it's always bee like that. (have checked photos from when I was a kid and it looks exactly the same) I'm worried about the way I can see scalp on top of my head in certain lighting, so much scalp that it just looks so damn bad and it's killing me. I look up diffuse thinning online and it looks similar to the way my hair looks in strong light. My hair was short, but I wouldn't consider it short enough to see this much scalp anymore...
These photos are taken straight after I woke up. The 2nd last picture was with no lighting, and the last picture was taken a few months ago when my hair was longer than it is now.
22 years old, double crown, depressed, having a really shit time at the moment.

Another pic I just took, looks a bit better. I really don't know if the other pictures are just harsh lighting or some kind of MPB.

Looks like diffuse thinning (on the 1st photo) to me. Your hair still looks ok, but you should definitely consider using propecia to slow down the thinning and maybe also try rogaine.

Is diffuse thinning the same as MPB? Have I got diffuse thinning until I'm bald or is this preventable?

You have MPB... You are starting to diffusely thin in the MPB-prone regions (crown and midscalp). The medications work best in these areas. Try minoxidil and finasteride.

But how come it looks the same in pictures when I'm like 5 years old? Was I diffusing then? I don't understand this. It only looks like this in sunlight at a certain angle.

looks like thinning in some pictures. No thinning in others.
If you want a definite answer i'd seek advice from a doc/derm/hair specialist.
Hair density differs from person to person. So if this definitely HAS always been like this since you were a child, I guess it's normal.
But if you want to stop MPB, then you need to make sure it IS MPB and try sorting it.
Your double crown looks perfect in one or two pictures. But thin in others. Strange. Again, lighting/density issue. You need to get it checked to be certain.

Yes in some pictures it does look normal, but when I'm really in strong sunlight or camera flash then it really looks bad. This is what freaks me out, it looks normal under normal light, just bad with really strong light. Also the pics I had just woken up so my hair was a little messy.
