    Default Seborreic Dermatitis Crisis

So unfortunately I have to say hello to my fellow club members. Here is my story. Around new years eve my partner told me they were concerned about the sheer amount of dandruff on my scalp. I noticed I had a zit like growth that itched a lot and so much scalp oil. I shrugged it off as simple acne and dandruff. Then I noticed my scalp turn red and hair shedding like crazy. Sitting at my desk it would shower down onto my arms and into my vision and clog my keyboard. The itching and hair loss got worse and worse. I noticed it wasn't in any particular pattern. Very diffused all over. I felt small bumps. Yesterday I went to my endocrinologist and PCP. The endo did a full blood work. Testosterone DHT CBC nutritional minerals and the like. He said everything was normal and my DHT levels were not high at all. My PCP however took one look at my scalp and said it is seborrheic dermatitis and she treats many other patients with this and can expect to regrow once the flare up is under control. As much as I trust my doctor I wanted to pass through you guys. Included are pictures of my vertex (thinned no patter) the side of my head (thinned with a patch) My big arse forehead (my hair line is intact and untouched) and the back of my head (thinned with a patch or two)

So how boned am I? I was put on spiro Nizoral a topical steroid and propecia. The shampoo and steroid seem to be working and my hair loss has slowed. Although my doctor reassures me it usually grows back within a year after a flare up of this skin disease. Click image for larger version

I am def seeing a response in the flakes pustules and itching but I think I need to better tackle the generalized inflammation of my body trying to kill the fungus and not my follicles. I've lost about 30% density in about a month and you can see subtle bald patches. I know its not that severe now that's why I'm throwing everything and the kitchen sink At it now. Thank you for replying by the by. I think I might talk about immuno suppressive drugs with my doctor.

Some slight ones. No decrease in sex drive but slightly watery ejactulant. But my problem isn't high dht. But a different problem all together. So I am rethinking if I need a anti dht drug for a immune system problem.

I had the same thing happen to me. A year ago actually.. My hair got REALLY REALLY BAD, but started regrowing slowly.. I'm still not as good as I was, but I have mpb so I'm sure it's SD and the progression of the disease. I was on fin when mine happened though.. Try coal tar shampoo mg217. It helped me greatly.

Question,Are you using oral spiro?? If so, what dose?

    I am on oral
    and 200mg Spiro
I was also given ketoconazole shampoo 2%
    Finastride 1mg
    Fluocinolone 0.01%

My worry is my most noticable patch of hair loss is on the vertex. Although I have thick hair its this diffused patch with skin visible. I lost that in about a months time. No family history of balding either side of my family. Your regrowth gives me hope. My hair line is untouhed. Do you think I have mpb? Also I'm happy to report the hair loss has virtually stopped with apple cider vinegar spray and the ketoconazole. No more itch or burning.

It will grow back, i had alot of diffuse thinning. I would like to say my hair has grown back, just not to the same quality and my hairline is receeding but i'm using minoxidil. Ketoconozale alone will get it under control, but you have to use it almost daily and if you go to the gym you have to use it. I find that sweat exacerbates the problem.

I would avoid styling your hair for a while, perhaps style it after a shower but not with using any products or combing it backwards and forwards.

    Default Update

So it seems that small patch on the back of my head is now a big patch on the back of my head. :C
Should I just shave at this point? This happened over a few days due to my dermatitis. Pic 1 26th JanAttachment 44362 pic 2 28 Jan
