I am often asked by patients, “When should I come in to a hair restoration physician?” The answer is: as soon as you think you are losing your hair.

There are two different questions. One is when you should be evaluated by the doctor, the other is when you should have a hair transplant.

In general, the earlier you seek treatment, the better. The later that you can do a hair transplant, the better. So there are two, actually, different issues.
