Propecia vs. Avodart on frontal thinning
I've read somewhere that Propecia isnt very effective if you suffer from frontal hairloss/thinning. Is this true, and in that case: would Avodart be more effective?
Thanks in advance.

I take propecia for frontal thinning, and it works to a degree, by slowing everything down. I also take rogaine foam for frontal thinning. My take on it is that propecia works best when the hair loss is caught early, no matter where the hair loss is occurring. Because frontal thinning often happens first and is more aggressive, there is the impression that it doesnt work as well, which may not be true.
To answer your question though as to avodart, the short answer is I'm not sure. Ive heard that its better than propecia, but I am hesitant to try it since it is not fda approved for hair loss, and the side effects are more pronounced, since it stays in your system much longer than propecia.
My advice: try propecia first, give it a couple of years, and go from there.
