    Default Start of MPB?

Attached are pictures. I'm 25. I never noticed any hair in the shower or anything, the only time i notice it is when I use American Crew Fiber to style my hair which I use pretty heavily and assumed I was pulling on my hair with a strong substance too much.

After looking closely over a haircut a few months ago I noticed it appeared thinner in the middle area. I usually style that area pretty heavily so was wondering if that was it, but haven't seen much improvement since trying to be more gentile.

I've been told my multiple hair cutters that they thought I'd keep my hair for a long time without me even asking...although maybe they tell everyone that.

What's weird is, I don't seem to have hair thinning in the patterns I see online when googling MPB. My hairline seems (to me anyway) as good and as strong as its ever been, and the "epicenter" seems to be 3 or 4 inches in front of the back of the head area where MPB seems to strike first as well. The worst part seems to be slightly in front of the top of my head. Note, this picture is also taken with a flash and with a darker area it's obviously much tougher to see.

I work in a career where my looks are very important over a period of time. If this is the start of MPB should I begin a rogaine treatment? I've heard those are short-term fixes, though and after a few years rogaine stops working, and didn't necessarily want to pre-maturely treat now when it's not noticeable (unless standing directly above me), when perhaps it would be better to wait until any results become more visible from a natural viewpoint. Thoughts are much appreciated.

I believe the term is diffuse thinning, I feel like that is the pattern your hair loss is in your photos. Of course I could be wrong but it looks like some diffusion on the top but you still have a nice head of hair and can save what you have if you take action.

I appreciate the response. I have a couple of advantages...those pictures are taken with flash, and if looking say in the cars rear view mirror, I don't notice any thinning...but it's definitely there as evidenced when above with light in that direction. I'm also tall, so not many people see the top of my head.

However, I apologize for the naivate, but do you go to a general practitioner for this? I've seen a lot of people recommend propecia and rogaine together. I live in a fairly big city, and there are plenty of hairloss clinics like bosley, but I'm not sure if going to them just gets you sold on their over-priced stuff.

    Thanks,
    James

you do have some good advantages, but you can start by going to a dermatologist they can give you a good idea where your at and make that your first priority. Other people on here can help you on which meds Are best to take I am not sure myself because I do not take finasteride or minox. I am sorry if I am not a big help.

Looks like there is a tiny bit of thinning to me, but nothing serious. There may also be a slight recession in the temples. Again, nothing serious. But I would keep an eye on it and be ready to make a move, just in case it decides to progress.
