    Default FUE. Should I or shouldn't I?

G'Day boys (and girls I guess).
I'll keep it short. 38 year old father of two. I'm happily married so not chasing chicks anymore. I'm also not a vane person. But about 4-5 years ago I noticed thinning on top of head just in front of crown.
Am devastated! I don't think Regaine will work and want something permanent. FUE (Follicle Unit Extraction) came up when I searched. It's expensive but purports to be permanent and natural looking.
Any advice from blokes out there that have had it done? Should I just suck it up and accept my fate??
Rest of my hair is fine. Just the small area on top. I'd rather be receding badly from the front than have this one unsightly patch.
    Help, Greg in Australia
