Why Don't Hair Grafts in a Hair Transplant Fall Out Over Time?

"Hair shedding", or "shock loss", occurs right after a hair restoration procedure and is characterized by hair falling out. Though surprising to patients, shock loss doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. In this phase, hair follicles begin to shed myriads of old hairs as they prepare to grow new ones. Dr. Bernstein discusses why your actual hair grafts are not in danger following your hair transplant.

    Excerpt:
The reason why you can do a hair transplant is because of what is called “Donor Dominance”. Which means that the hair [on the back of your scalp] is permanent even if you move it.
