Default Hi, I am MrDavid and I'm going bald!

My name is David and I've been losing since I was 15, I am 31 now. My Grandpa and Grandma(Mother's side) both have severe hair loss. I've been using Minoxidil 5% off and on most of my life. The last year and a half or so have been very consistent regarding my usage. About 1 month ago I began Finasteride and Nizoral 1%. I've definitely have had a rough go at life, and today has been a little worse. So, I figured I might talk with you guys and maybe learn about my options. I've tried the buzz cut look and it just doesn't suit me. For some reason every social encounter seems to have at lease one comment about my hair. It's pretty sad people are the way they are. But the reason I am here is to find out whether its time to throw in the towel and quit spending money on hair loss products. I would also like to learn about hair transplants and if I'd be a suitable candidate. How many grafts ill need and what kind of prices are realistic for quality work. How to trust an HT surgeon. And last but not least, why are there so many bald hair transplant surgeons? I've very skeptical of this business and I want my surgeon to have proven success that can be verified.

It's getting close to shaving my head and getting on Prozac. I hope this wasn't to painful to read, I'm not a skilled writer. I'll provide a couple of pics and hopefully get some real insight of what lies ahead for me regarding my baldness. I appreciate your time.

    My Regimen;
    Minoxidil 5% 2x Daily
    Finasteride 2.5mg Daily
    10,000 mcg Biotin Daily
    Nizoral 1% 2x per week

Maybe you'll respond well to finasteride, who knows? this whole damn thing is a shot in the dark! I would stick with fin for 8-12 months and see how you respond. The HT thing depends on your expectations and donor supply. It never hurts to meet with a skilled IAHRS surgeon and see what they say.

    HELLO MrDAVID!!
Im glad that you came to this great forum, BTT.
First of all, my name is David too!
    (Dave Artista)

Now, Jamesst11 has given you very good advice and I agree with it.
STAY on Finasteride for as long as James' suggested.
Jamesst11 is one of many very good helpful members here..(Hi James')
The positive results are ongoing and they differ from person to person.
Stay calm and positive David. You will see an improvement to your scalp.
For most men, It will take some time to improve hair. I know that from my own use of Finasteride..Ive been on it now since Aug. 2013. My improvements are ongoing and decent.
No one knows right now, just how well it will improve your hair.
It might be a very GOOD improvement but no one knows as yet.
Do NOT stress out over this bro...STRESS will cause serious issues to your hair and to your health in the long run.
Stick around here with us MrDavid...Make the decision to stay happy and positive,,,,that will help you in the long run bro!!

Yep, and getting worse. I think I need to buzz it and move on. I wish it didn't look so shitty!

Not the easiest thing to do but try buzzing it again. You don't have to go slick . Go with a # 1 and try and get use to it .
