Wondering about a HT
I am just wondering if I should think about a HT or wait longer. I have been losing hair for 4-5 years and have moved from nw1 to nw2. I am not taking any thing to try to slow it down. So the main thing is that I wanted to get a HT before the hair loss got very noticeable. Should I wait? Is there something for hair that I should look forward to in the near future?

Welcome to the forum. I normally would ask your age but given your hair loss experience thus far it is not necessary.
One cannot get a hair transplant to ward off the need for a hair transplant due to further loss. That only ensures one thing, you will need for hair transplant surgery in the future to fill in the gaps Getting one now to avoid the appearance of further loss is like trying to fill a glass with water to prevent future evaporation. It doesn't work like that.
If you are concerned about future hair loss you should consider speaking with a doctor, preferably a hair restoration doctor that is recommended by the IAHRS. If they think medication is necessary for your case they'll suggest it but they'll tell you all of your options that are available.
Should you wait? It depends on how much hair loss bothers you. Hair transplant surgery is a last resort.

Doctor Representative
If you are wondering if you should even consider an HT I think the answer is a resounding no. Surgery is the last resort and wondering if you should be thinking about one tells me that it isn't a pressing matter for you. That's a good thing.

Shave your head bald because you will never have a chance to have a clean shaved bald head once you get a HT.

A clean bald head looks terrible though on 99/100 people.
Unless you're black it just makes you look sickly. Unless you're Vin diesel or the rock. And you aren't.
If it didn't this site wouldn't exist.

IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
Muscle tone and facial hair can accentuate the appearance of a man's clean-shaven head.

It can, but your face is easily the most important feature. Hair = face.

You should transition hairstyles in phases by lowering the hair length with clipper guards over a period of a month, but eventually introducing your head to a 'buzzed' look. It may be highly liberating for you. Much of how you see yourself might depend on how others react to you in your social environment.
