    Default Should I be concerned?

Hey guys, recently I have noticed that I have been shedding a lot of hair recently. I probably shed about 20-40 hairs in the process of shower and styling my hair and probably 30-40 hairs throughout my day. I wear my hair longer and my hair is pretty thick (as least as of now) so it could just be related to that? At and least today I have noticed that my head feels itchy.

However I have been noticing some slight recession around my temples. Looking at older pictures of me, I feel like it might have been recessed like this for a few years now (I'm 22). I have had a very extreme widows peak throughout my life and I feel that it makes the receeded temples look even more pronounced. I have also noticed that my cowlick looks more pronounced, but honestly I never really ever looked at my cowlick before last week and I'm having trouble finding pictures of it from the past besides a picture of me when I was like 3. Seeing the combination of the shedding and temples made me bring it up to my parents. My day is almost 60s and he has the same hairline as me and has hair that is just starting to thin out now. My mother also has a hairline that is very similar to my father's. When I asked my parents about family members who were bald this was the response:

    Mom's side:
Dad - full head of hair before he died (around age 50)
Brother 1 - Full head of hair
Brother 2 - Full hair but always clean shaven
Brother 3 - Pretty receeded hairline that started in his late 30s

    Dad's side:
Dad - Started to bald in his 50s (like my dad)
Brother - Full head of hair

Attached are pictures of my hairline, crown, crown when wet, my normal fringe and pictures of my crown and hairline when I was way younger. Thoughts?

I would literally measure your hairline from the top of the eyebrows and record the measurements too. You could go to a reputable clinic and establish contact and follow-up with periodic evaluations. You won't typically see much change over a period of 6 months, but one year can give you an indication on where it might go. Based on your history, I would look at being a potential Norwood III.
