Non stop shed after reducing then increasing finasteride
I'm new here and am unsure of where to go from here
I started finasteride 1mg about 16 months ago along with minoxidil 10% cream. After just 6 months I had excellent results with nearly all my hair back. I was reading forums and decided to go to 0.5mg finasteride as I'd had such good results and the cost we be half the price (worst mistake ever!) so after 2 months on the reduced dose I noticed lots of shedding and loss, so u quickly went straight back to 1mg. Now 10 months on and I'm still losing hair. It's probably slower than before I took finasteride but it's definitely going. It's probably going in a different pattern than before too. I'm confused as to why and it's destroying to watch as I don't know what else to do. Any comments/advice/help would be very appreciated. Many thanks

Hair frequently goes through different phases, worrying about shedding is often overblown.
Stay on finasteride a full year at the approved 1mg dose.
Treating hairloss is a slow process, the key is to be patient and consistent.

I completely understand the waiting a year and I have no other option other than trying dutasteride. I'm just confused at the non stop shed for the last 10 months when I responded so well to begin with. The shed also seems to be more diffuse than before
