Default Dr. Robert Leonard - Why the Bad Rap?

    Hello,

I've had 3 consultations (Dr. Diep, Dr. Meshkin, and Dr. Leonard). I selected Dr. Leonard because I'm very convinced by the Artas robot's follicle harvesting efficacy, but also because he is the one out of the three that offers FUE with Artas. He is also a family friend, so I feel I will be in good hands.

Can anyone provide feedback, good or bad, on Dr. Leonard?

I'm traveling from CA to his practice in Newton, MA during February. My decision is based on my uncle's success story and recommendation.

Just tying to understand if the petty complaints are just emotional reactions to his personality, or if there is evidence behind the warnings to stay away. Can anyone provide their testimonial of an actual surgical experience with Dr. Leonard?

I read one thread from someone in 2014 about shock loss, but he never followed up. Typically, no news is good news...right?

FYI: I'm 29, early stage Norwood 5, on Propecia and Rogaine, and needs 2,000-2,500 grafts.

Have you spoken to any of his patients? What's your opinion of his patients' results? Do you know the average transection rate?

    The results are most important.

I'm not impressed with the ARTAS robot so far. IMO, the extraction sites look too big, post-op... noticeably bigger than what doctors can do without the robot. The whole point of FUE is to make the procedure as least-nvasive and least noticeable as possible. IMO, the ARTAS robot falls short on both issues I just mentioned. The robot offers no advantages to the final outcome, as far as I can tell. I think it's kind of gimmicky too (just my opinion though).

As far as Dr Leonard, I know that he did work on a patient named Timetested. His results are well documented, and you can Google them.

If Dr Leonard is a "family friend" then you probably don't want to hear anything less than positive about him. From what I understand, also Dr Leonard advertises heavily, which is a bad sign. In my opinion, the doctors who advertise themselves should be avoided.

cancelled my appointment with Dr. Leonard. Dr. Rahal recommends 4,000 grafts via FUT. I'm getting recommendations from Bernstein, H&W, Shapiro, and Konior.

what do you think? FUT or FUE
