29 receding hairline/possible slight thinning. Considering propecia, a few questions

    Hello,

    Hope you are all well.

I am 29. My recession/possible thinning seems to be fairly slow so I would be happy to just stop it or slow it down further.

I am thinking of starting a small dose of propecia for my hairline to try and slow it down or maybe even stop it.

I have a GP appointment booked, hopefully they will be familiar with the medication.

I was thinking of starting on 0.25mg/quarter of a pill every 2 or 3 days. Has anyone had success on such low dosages? My reasoning is that as I still have some hair left and it is fairly slow recession, if I start low and hopefully slow it down I can increase the dose gradually if I can tolerate it.

Is there a point where the dose is so low it's pointless?

I want to get some blood tests before starting so I have a baseline measure. What do I need to ask for? Just DHT and Testosterone or more specific?

I am pretty apprehensive about it to be honest. I had a friend who had some pretty bad side effects from it and I think he may still be having problems now. I am also a pretty anxious person so I don't just want to replace the worry about my hair with worry about side effects!

    Thanks for your help

I read someone say that taking it every other day or every few days is bad as it causes your hormones to spike. I thought Propecia reduced DHT for a few days per dose? Anyone got any experience with this?
