Hey guys! Would appreciate some advice (PICS included)

    Hi there,

I'm 22 y/o and recently started growing my hair out. I'd had it short for a while (through school) and decided I'd go long for a bit. As it grew out I started noticing thinning at the front and a lack of coverage at the crown.

    A few things to consider:

When I started growing it out I also went vegan (in January) - I'm going to see a doctor to check if I'm deficient in anything.

My crown is itchy and uncomfortable - from what I understand this is a fairly common MPB occurrence.

My father, his brother and my paternal granddad have all suffered at the hand of MPB. My dad got a transplant so his looks okay. My maternal grandfather kept all his hair until he was about 70.

    Cheers
    HH222

    Hello Hh222 !
You can to the right hairloss forum for advice!
    First of all-
"PS. I'm not sure why the pictures uploaded sideways"
Those sideways pics are no matter, we can very much see how your scalp is looking.

Thanks for also sharing your basic information.
It seems like you are starting to experience possible hairloss but it could also be JUST a maturing of your hairline too. I wish my hair looked like yours does.
If you do start getting hairloss it might not be as major as your fathers but the more important thing to keep in mind is this,
You cannot ALLOW yourself to become STRESSED-OUT and depressed over your hair or anything else in life!
    Once that happens,
STRESS, worry and depression WILL harm your hair AND your health overall.

Being that you are still young, there will be much better hairloss TREATMENTS in your future.
Who knows, maybe a cure as well but you cannot become obsessed over that either.
    Live your life HAPPY.

Its good and smart that you will be seeing your doctor on this!

Your doing the right thing bro.
Also you could start using that multivitamin Biotin.
It has a long history of HELPING to improve everyone's hair.
Minoxidil is another thing your could use,, on your hairline.

Talk with your doctor about the medicine Finasteride.
    So many people use it.
I had started it in Aug. 2013.
The improvements on my hairline are happening (not a full head of hair of course)but it has been a slow process.
I dont know if you would need to use Fin', lets see what your doctor may say.
    Stay calm my friend!! Cheers.

Looks like typical MPB to me. It looks even more extreme because of your dark black hair but it there is actually a lot you can still to to fight back right now. Don't get depressed about your hair though, man. You could start with Minoxidil and Biotin right away and then think if you would like to consider Fin. Just see what your doctor has to say on this.

          Thanks for the advice guys!

Artista: I've heard about Biotin I'll go out and get some tomorrow. What results have people been showing? Regrowth or just maintaining what is there?

Polios: I know, I thought about the fact that my hair is dark and therefore my scalp more noticeable. Will keep you guys updated.

I would advice to get your real biotin from whole food instead.
Synthetic as called d-biotin in pill form docent trigger the needed nutrients.

              Herbaliser,
What brand of biotin do you recommend?

Yeah through the observations even i think its kind of typical MPB. You could start with Minoxidil 5% and Biotin right away and then think if you can consider Fin. Consult your doctor or any appropriate online medical consultation.

Yes, Biotin is always a great choice as well. However only good for better growth and not so good for really fighting your hair loss. In combo with that it may be good to also go for some other supplements... I take zinc as well.

                    I donīt recommend any brand.
I slow juice my biotin instead: swiss chard, carrots for biotin and cucumber since itīs high in silica.
They combine perfectly together, and the downside is that my hair grows way to fast.

Vitamins in pill form have no proven efficacy. Use them to supplement actual food but never rely on them.

Like BaldingEagle mentioned, everything put to mimic docent work as they should even if it actually contains the specified vitamin.
Your body needs co-vitamins, mineral friends, as i mentioned and whole food has that complexity to gain the actual vitamin as stated.

I would still recommend to supplement your diet with some vitamins and minerals with proven effect on hair growth (not hair loss...) like biotoin, selenium and zinc. I believe there are some other experimental supplements from food extracts like pumpkin seed oil or saw palmetto oil but the evidence that they actually do something is rather thin...
