Non-Prescribed Fin
Does anyone know where I can purchase finasteride that is somewhat reputable? My GP flat out refused to prescribe it and my dermatologist is taking a "let's wait and see" attitude and only prescribed Nizoral. Meanwhile I am constantly freaking out and can think of little else besides my hairloss. I got the impression from others that you just asked for the finasteride and that was that. Anyone have any tips?

Where do you live? If you live in the united states, I would check out medical wellness center. They've been totally legit with me and were able to give me a script without any problems.

There are some Indian websites where you can get Fin without any questions asked. Perhaps you can find some info on that if you search the forum a bit.

Hi,
'Non prescribed' medication for prescription medication is not the best idea in my experience as you never know what you are genuinely obtaining, if it makes it through to you. With all due respect to your Derm... he knows very little as Nizoral will do sweet FA in my opinion to fight against MPB. Nizoral can be bought over the counter in any pharmacy too for dandruff. If you are using it no worries and i hope it helps but my recommendation is do not 'over use' as it's medicated to fight dandruff by stripping oils and crap off the scalp and can make hair shed drastically. I wrote a topic on it. I will try find it.
If you are in the UK you can email Dr Steve Edgar I GP well known with hair loss guys in UK who require a private prescription for finasterdie and he is helpful and informed. Email is drstevengedgar@gmail.com He requires you to be a UK resident though and fill in a medical questionnaire to follow GMC regs. He can prescribe 5mg Proscar , Propeica or 5mg Generic finasterdie.
I hope this helps. Think twice before ordering prescription medication online without a prescription in my opinion as you never know what your going to get. Only my opinion.
Regards
Spex

I am in the US. Ithought Nizoral was a part of the "big three?" This is the higher percentage Nizoral, I don't think you can get it w/out prescription. I have started to use it more than twice a week, so I will cut back on that.

Really, there is no big three. There's a big two: finasteride and minoxidil. That's it.

Was going to try medical wellness center, but lo and behold the site says it's prescriptions aren't valid in Illinois, where I am. I get the feeling that all these cry babies with "PFS" have made the medical world super reluctant to prescribe fin.

Yeah, I agree. I know someone who lives in Chicago and had the Rx sent to his parents' house in another state and then had it mailed from there to Chicago where it was filled with no problem. I'm not suggesting that as a solution, because I don't know the exact reason why it's not valid in certain states. It probably has to do not actually seeing a physician, but I dunno. It would be nice if more physicians were educated in the actual side effect profile of the drug. I had one physician just tell me outright that there was no what she would give me a prescription before I even had an appointment, even though she said on her website she specialized in "Mens Health" (?viagra). It seems like it would be easier to get a script for Oxycontin. I finally got one from a dermatologist in AZ, but he wouldn't refill it without me making an appointment, and by then I had moved to another state.

Well I wonder whether I can have medical wellness center send me the script in the mail to illinois, and then just have it filled by an online pharmacy? I'm guessing it's the illinois brick and mortar pharmacies that aren't going to fulfill a prescription obtained this way.
