    Derma Roller with Minoxidil

    Hello All,

I've been on propecia since I was 19...am now 34. I recently decided to use minoxidil as well and I purchased Lipogaine because of the DHT blocker added to it. Has anyone here ever used the Derma Roller on their heads? Has anyone ever used it along with minoxidil? If so, what were your experiences?

    Thanks Much

i use a 1.5 mm dermaroller, once a week, for 15 min. it makes you tear up, but i don't bleed on my scalp or get very red. your head my throb for a bit, but it goess away, and by the next day you forget u even did it until u touch your scalp and its slightly tender. however on my first try, with a .75 mm roller, the throbbing from that first experience didn;t allow me to sleep well that night, but that was the only time; the rest since then have been fine.

i don't apply anything to my scalp until the next day, as did the original studies on dermarollign with min.

i think the whole point of this is to increase the nimbler of blood vessels in the scalp, and healing factors that occur after wounding to promote hair growth. I've only been on it for little over a month but no progress yet. a few ppl have had success with it. in theory i think it should work to an extent, but it may be an individual outcome thing.

    hope this helps.

Good choice with the Lipogaine. I would be using that as well, but it's too expensive for me at this moment.

I have dermarolled a couple of times. I found it to be more painful than I expected. There is some debate as to whether the scalp should bleed or simply have a red tinge to it afterwards. I didn't draw blood even at 1.5mm. People are also arguing as to whether you should apply minoxidil on the same day as dermarolling or wait 24 hours. Personally, I'm not being very regular in my dermarolling routine, because I'm still unsure as to whether I'm really doing it properly.
