Strange hairline since birth. How many grafts would fix this?
I don't care if no one believes it, but I was born with a Norwood 3 and my hairline has looked like this all of my life. There was never any hair in the temple areas for all 26 years of my life. Heck, I remember being a young kid in the 1990s and not being able to try any of those "cool spiky hairstyles" that "were in" back then, just because they exposed my terrible hairline. And if you go back even further, I even have pictures of my two year old self with a Norwood 3.
So, how many grafts would fix this unsightly mess?

A "fix" is subjective. One man's expectations may be met with 1500 grafts while another's may be met with 3000. All other issues/factors aside I'd guesstimate about 2000 to 2500 grafts. Why? Because the hair needs to be blended into your existing hair and to have a visual equivalent density that matches what you currently have will need a lot of hair.
You should take a photo or two and draw a hairline for us to see. That will give us a better idea of what you are hoping for and if your expectations are realistic.

IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
You still have many choices of hair styles to wear. This is not a problem to fix. You have a 'normal' hair loss pattern. Your problem is whether or not you will benefit from undergoing an actual surgery at 26 years old. Should you have realistic expectations, understand the progressive nature of hair loss, and know the after effects of surgery; about 300 FUE will balance the temples. Of course, you should get more than one opinion by a reputable clinic.
