Post Saw Palmetto and DHT levels

    Hi guys,

I know that there have been an awful lot of talks which all basically boil down to one thing - saw palmetto is useless.

On the other hand, I came across a study showing that saw palmetto can reduce DHT level by 30 per cent.

I had my blood tested a week ago. According to the results my DHT level is 1300, while the norm is from 300 to 850.

So I plan to take 3 pills a day. One contains 650 mg of saw palmetto. I'll have my blood tested in a month and let you know the results, guys.

PS I perfectly understand that fin or duta is a better way to reduce DHT, however, the problem is that both fin and duta reduce DHT by 60-80 per cent almost regardless of the dosage. It gives me pretty much devastating sides. I hope 20-30 per cent decrease in DHT (if there is a decrease) will not bring about such negative consequences.

Best luck to all of you.

If you are going down that route be careful of the form of Saw Palmetto. The Rapid release capsules are better then the tablets on going on personal experience and advice on absorption. I spent a few years on and off the capsules 1,800mg a day. It at least kept the crown and vertex thick. was running low last year so ordered the tablets off ebay because they was cheaper, within weeks i had a nasty shed and doesn't feel like its working as well, only a month back on the capsules.

Also take into consideration that Saw Planetto can cause the same side affects as Fin and Dut when using more than 500mg daily.
