Dr. Dauer Patient- 1493 Grafts
Greetings,
Here is a patient of mine who received 1493 grafts via FUT to the frontal and mid scalp. The patient had prior procedures with another physician which left him with wide donor scars and limited donor supply. Hence, I wanted to harvest as many grafts as safely possible while also trying to revise his previous strip scars.
The after photos here are shown after 9 months but there is already a significant difference. The patient should see some increased cosmetic density over the next 3-5 months.
Also, in my practice we only create single hair follicles for the hairline and keep the natural follicular groupings intact in order to create maximum cosmetic density. This is how we achieve our results with a reasonable numbers of grafts, as opposed to dissecting down the 2-4 hair follicles into smaller units which inflates the graft count, but is not the best way to create cosmetic density.
The question I ask myself daily is, "what would I want done to my own scalp?"
The answer to that question is how I perform procedures on my patients.
