film ARTAS Hair Transplant - Avoiding Damage To Existing Hair

The importance of avoiding the transection of terminal hairs during the recipient site making process cannot be underestimated when trying to achieve the best cosmetic result from a hair transplant procedure, yet this aspect of the surgery is seldom discussed with prospective patients.

When recipient sites are created by hand, even with the use of high powered magnification, it is difficult to avoid damaging 100% of a patient’s existing terminal hair. This presentation explains how the ARTAS hair transplant system has solved a problem that can potentially decrease the incidence of post surgical shock loss, as well as preserving the native hair of patients during the site making process.

Being the victim of COMPLETE and PERMANENT shock loss to ALL native hair in the recipient site, I have to say that this info is appreciated. I am one of those that got an HT way too early and as a result have had a really devastating last 2 years. It seems my surgeon just quickly poked a ton of recipient sites into my head very quickly. One year later, there is really nothing left in the recipient area except for the transplanted hair. spaced too far apart. right at the hair line. On only ONE side of my head. It's a horrible, horrible nightmare that I wish I could remedy.
