When is it appropriate to switch from finasteride to dutasteride?

Did it after two years as well, I've been on DUT for about 9 months now.

it's a slow loss still, but the benefit is after the initial run-through of switching over, once it gets in your system you really only need to take it 1-2 times a week at most to keep it in your system.

Fin would stay in my system for 2-3 days, DUT stays for about 21 days at the same level as day one.

It's definitely stronger, but my hair is very slowly still going, can't imagine what it would be like without this stuff. Luckily we may have some new products within a few years so I can possibly get off this stuff once and for all because it definitely changes your system!

rdawg, how is your hair now? Fin and dut do nothing for me.. so i am wondering if you are more lucky.

did anyone see a dutasteride drug mention on their leaflet that it promotes hair growth or is everyone just taking it as off-label. i mean is anyone living in south korea and did you see it ?

I just skip the finasteride and go with dutasteride, it has worked wonders for me.

I found the switch of benefit. I was on fin 17 years on fin and switched onto Dut with positive results.

I just started Merck Propecia a few weeks ago and reading all of this is highly discouraging to me. Propecia is supposed to halt hair loss for over 80% of men who use it, but reading this forum yesterday and today it seems it doesnt help most.

I'm around a norwood 3 vertex. My hairline is very receded and I've got a thin patch on my crown about the size of my palm. I am desperate not to lose any more. It's destroying my self image and consuming every waking moment.

Should I stick with Propecia, try to get dustasteride, or something else entirely? Please advise me.
