Best hairstyle for balding in back (pics)

Title pretty much sums up my question. Just looking for an opinion. The thing that bothers me the most is the hair loss leaves it looking like I sort of have a "line" of hair loss rather than a bald spot back there, but it must be to do with my hair length at the moment. Has anyone else experienced this?
I like slightly spikey style but Im not sure if this would just be worse or if it would work or not?
