Diffuse = Shock loss? Is an HT such a no go?
Are there many surgeons who won't go near diffuse because of shock loss. Are there any UK ones who can operate and avoid shock loss?

Hey buddy, i suggest you consult with dr. Lorenzo. He is located in Madrid.
He was in Manchester last year and Worked for the Farjo clinic. But now he is back in Madrid.
He is really good with diffuse cases from what i have seen.

Unless you have AMAZING donor hair, I would say it is a bad idea... especially if you are not on finasteride... are you? The problem I see is that you are almost GUARANTEED to have significant shock loss, if not Telogen effluvium from such an operation. You will lose massive amounts of native hair and what really is going to allow it come back? If you have MPB, sure those hairs would eventually be lost anyway... BUT, if you are not on fin, you are not giving those hairs a chance. In my case, I had a very, very thick head of hair... post HT.. lost 50% of it within 1 year, literally. I was only diffuse thin in the region I got the transplant. Now, in THAT region, there is no native hair left and I am diffuse thin EVERY where. I was not on fin until about 1.5 years after. I have been on it for the last 5 months, but am not seeing anything too significant.

Can't believe this, I'm just amazed that I'm only hearing this now. I've been looking and researching for so many years, but nobody has every said this to me till the last month or so.
Not on Fin, no. That's true. Hair loss is accelerating though, and I've heard from a surgeon or two, that I'd be doing more bad than good. So what do I do, remain in this miserable state forever more...? I was surprised to not hear, 'shock loss' may or may not happen as opposed to 'Yes, it will happen with you', Bum deal huh

thanks for your reply.. When you say donor area, I read that as the back of my head below the balding part? If so, then that appears to be OK. The diffuse is crown and moving forward to front of head. Sides and Back are, or appear to be OK.
