If you go the med route you should start sooner rather than later but I agree 17 might a bit young. Im sure a doctor could also help guide you on that too. Doing nothing and just ignoring it is also an option. You have to keep in mind if it goes slow you might have many years before it gets bad. Its not at all unrealistic to say in another 2 years there might very well be a safer better alternative to use so no need to rush to finasteride if your uncomfortable with that

from your pics I wouldn't say it's sure you're losing - but if you are in fact starting to lose hair than it will probably take some years to progress and won't be immediate so don't panic.
In my opinion - you should visit a doctor since there are other reasons for losing hair at a young age (such as stress, autoimmunity etc).
