As far as I'm aware, Finasteride is illegal for anyone under 18 because it can cause serious problems for men during puberty. So I think you'd probably be okay, but it is cutting it fine. How "developed" would you say you are in terms of puberty? Would you say you've stopped growing heightwise and facial hair, etc?

There arent many hard fast rules in medicine a lot of it seems to be guessing. I would wait personally as long as possible. In another few years its likely there will be alternatives and if there isnt you can try propecia then. I would wait atleast until around 20 something maybe 21 or 22 before trying it.
A lot of doctors would probably advise against propecia just in general for anyone. That old motto do no harm is not that silly. If everything works well why risk breaking something? Although I acknowledge at this point your forced to take that risk to save hair which is unfortunate.

If I could go back to when I was 19 I'd jump on fin in a heartbeat. I'd pay a lot of money to go back and make that call. Do it and do NOT freak yourself out over sides or you'll scare yourself out of it. Im on RU and fin and I still can't tell you if I've actually had any real sides.
