Hair Texture and Quality During Hair Loss
Hi guys,
This is my first post here. I was wondering if anyone noticed that when they first began to experience hair loss, the texture and quality of their hair also changed?
When I first started puberty, I noticed that my previously soft curls became more wirey and coarse. However, this affect didn't seem to apply to all of the hair on my head. Now that I'm in my mid 20's and suffering from severe hair loss, I notice that those areas which became frizzy and coarse in my teenage years, are also the sections of hair that I have lost due to MPB.
Is it possible that DHT causes damage to the hair follicle which manifests itself not only in hair thinning, but also by reducing quality and texture? This would explain why my hair became so unruly in those areas where I later suffered MPB.
I guess, there is one plus side to losing my hair. I have my nice soft curly hair back - what is left of it anyway.
Thoughts?

I think it is definitely possible. What did your doctor say exactly?
