Default Dull aching in testes, anus and lower abdomen.

... Sorry if the title was a bit to much information

I've been using a regimen of Minoxidil, Nizoral and Finasteride for the past year with great results.

I've never experienced anything I could claim to be side effects of Finasteride except for an extremely mild testicalular ache that occurred twice over a 12 month period and lasted only a few days.

For the last couple of days I've been experiencing a more noticeable ache in my testes and lower abdomen, as well as occasionally aching in my anus and occasionally tenderness around my nipples.
I'm waiting to see if it will pass, but its enough to make me a little concerned.

I take 1.25mg of Finasteride daily and have never experienced any cause for concern until now.

I'm just wondering if this is a sign that I should:

    1. Lower my Finasteride dose, or;
    2. Stop taking Finasteride completely.

I don't want to sound like a "Finasteride Hater" because I've experienced great results from it and I'm not convinced that it's all as bad as the internet makes it out to be.

But I might just be one of those unlucky 1% or 2% of people who shouldn't take it.
I'm also concerned that the longer I take it the worse my testicular aching will become.

I'd love some replies from trusted forum members and people who have had experiences similar to mine.

    Thanks for your help

Not really "trusted" but the same thing happened to me during my 3 years on fin. The anus thing is happening because of some affect on your prostate. I rode it out and was fine until 3 years in I noticed my dick wasn't working anymore. Took 4 years to recover to about 70% of what I used to be. I would tell you to ween off, definitely don't quit cold turkey. Members are gonna tell you to "ride it out or lower the dose bro", but the fact is if you are having sides, there is nothing you can do with doses to change your body's reaction to this drug. I tried it all, lowering the dose, going every other day, hell towards the end of it I was doing .25mg every Sunday. I would take it Sunday evening, and have testicle aches and limp-dick until about Thursday night, after that I wouldn't have aches and the erection would improve until I took the pill again Sunday.

Long story short, you will have people telling you all sorts of things but the decision is ultimately yours. From my own experience tho, I can tell you that going through ages 23-27 all spaced out with impotence and disinterest for girls was very unfortunate.

    good luck mate

Thank you so much for your reply

    That's a huge help.

You've actually addressed one of my biggest concerns, the fact that what I'm currently experiencing could be the gate way to worse side effects like sexual impotency and erectile dysfunction.

I promised to be honest with myself when I started my regimen and pull out if ever I began to experience side effects.
When it comes to the crunch, I'de prefer my health over my hair.

I've never had any reason to believe that me and Finasteride shouldn't mix until now, I thought maybe I was one of the guys who got away with it
But this is obviously the way my body reacts to it and I can't ignore that.

May I ask why I should ween myself off Finasteride instead of stopping it cold turkey?
And what does your current hairloss prevention regimen consist of? Do you use some kind of Finasteride alternative?

Did you get your T-levels check during this time, and if so, were they low? Kobren had a well-known urologist come on his show, and he said for the very few who had long-lasting side effects, it was due to low testosterone. He gave them testosterone, and they greatly improved.
