    mederma?

would mederma be a good product to use for scarring after the sutures are taken out?
sorry for continual posts guys--just so pumped, and a little trepidated at the moment in regard to making a mistake I would later wish I had not made. :/

Mederma is a good product. Vitamin E oil is too. But for all practical purposes, nothing beats a tension free 2 layer trichophytic closure...

I tell almost all unremarkable closures (meaning not too tight and no history of scar issues previously) that any supplemental scar treatment probably isn't necessary but is an option. I do want to see all of my scars at 4 weeks, but surprisingly most folks skip that free appointment.

      thank you much doc.
I'm very concerned about this scar, and almost wish I would have went with the FUE (is that the correct one?)...but it was too pricey for my young, low-ranking military butt, so I opted to move this route.

what would you recommend me using from now on? I am not sure if the "trichophytic closure" was done, but I will ask my doc. If he didn't, though, he is probably just going to tell me it is over-rated or something to that effect.
Regardless, this is day 6 now and I am hoping to find out the best products I can use to minimize scarring.

If mederma and vitamin e will work to help minimize the scar's size and noticeability in the long run, then I'll look into them. Is that what you would normally advise a friend, who had just had this surgery, to do?

Thanks btw, sir. This community has been quite a blessing for me

Ask your doc what he/she suggests. That is your best route.
