    Thumbs down Finasteride aka Propecia causes cancer among other things...

    In June 2011, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Drug Safety Communication warning that men taking Finasteride may face a higher risk of developing high-grade prostate cancer. At the time, the FDA mandated that the labels for Finasteride medications be updated to warn of this risk. Additionally, in August 2011, the Canadian Health Agency, stated that male breast cancer has been reported in a small number of patients worldwide with both the 1 mg and 5 mg formulations of finasteride, though most have been associated with the 5mg formulation.

    Keep sucking down that poison.

    what exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Anyone taking finasteride already knows this, especially those of us that are more educated in hair loss. Are you just pissed because you tried it and had side effects or something? Keep that sh*t outta here, because all you're going to get is negative criticism. you're on a HAIR LOSS forum trying to piss off and fear monger people about the only medication that prevents HAIR LOSS.

    Sometimes therapists prescribe anti anxiety medication, which can cause the following side effects:
    confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior;
    weak or shallow breathing;
    unusual risk-taking behavior, no fear of danger;
    unusual or involuntary eye movements;
    pounding heartbeats or fluttering in your chest;
    painful or difficult urination, urinating less than usual;
    pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding; or
    new or worsening seizures.....

    AND yet, people pop it like candy. WELL, hair loss, a failed HT and three bouts of TE in the past two years has caused me pretty serious anxiety. BUT, if I take this anti-anxiety med, i may be able to accept going bald more easily. SO, if it's so black and white AND if you really want to start a logical debate on here, you tell me which one to take. This or finasteride.

    The point is this - people need to do what's best and follow the path to their own spiritual well being. People need to find peace within themselves. Some people have NO quality of life feeling like they look horrible, and some have even taken their own life because of it. If cautiously taking a drug and carefully monitoring the side effects will help bring back something that gives you peace of mind, then who are you to say it's wrong. i.e. f*ck off please.
