I do not understand this attitude that anything negative associated with propecia/finasteride primarily rages those who take it so bad.
Why can't we just have the facts stated and accept it?
Finasteride has been proved to reduce hair loss. It has also been proved to cause erectile dysfunction, loss of libido and so on(sometimes irreversible so you should really be aware) - no need to get butthurt, the medication is used at a higher dosage for prostate shrinking so go figure. I think personally it is strange how many times I see 16-22 year olds on here get advice to get this as if their lives depended on it without being told anything about the side effects. I have even seen people on here wanting them to not know about it "And also don't read into the side effects,". It's crazy.
No, state that it does prevent hair loss, but also inform them to read up on the side effects - and don't belittle them. Be honest. And don't start accusing those who simply share negative facts of looking so and so ad hominem fallacy much?

How about you exercise. It's been proven to be just as, if not more effective for anxiety then any big pharma drug.
I don't understand why you all attacked the OP for bringing information to this community...

Lets not forget it can shrink or wee wee

It actually prevents prostate cancer. It led to a 25% reduction in prostate cancer. The overall survival was the same as placebo.

If you look great with a shaven head and are completely content with it, then why are you on a hair loss forum? Does antagonizing people make you feel big? It's really sad when you see fully grown men act like high school bullies. I feel bad for you.

I dont even take finasteride. It didnt say how much of a higher risk and it even has the word MAY. If your not sure if it does or not whats the point? What was the high grade cancer rate in the placebo group? didnt mention that either. Is it really an established fact that fin increases high grade prostate cancer risk?
I agree its pointless criticizing the one existing thing that has worked for the last 20 years and revolutionized MPB. MPB would not even be treatable condition if not for finasteride. Anyone can criticize why dont you invent or suggest a viable alternative that men on propecia should use instead? That would be much more useful that saying this treatment sucks dont use it.
warning that men taking Finasteride may face a higher risk of developing high-grade prostate cancer
