    Default Could a partnership Samumed/Follica = the cure ?

    - Follica have their wounding procedure, They seem to fail (not to create neogenesis but to find that exact molecule that would create functional new follicle

    "It turns out that the wound-healing process causes skin cells to dedifferentiate, providing a limited time window during which those cells can be persuaded to form new hair follicles.The researchers also found that inhibiting Wnt signaling during this window reduced follicle neogenesis, while overexpressing Wnt molecules in the skin increased the number of new follicles"

    -Samumed is specialize in Wnt pathway, and they peraph's already have the knowledge and capacity to create that kind of Wnt molecule that could induce neogenesis and then a hair with good characteristics
    If they don't, that kind of Wnt pathway is probably not far far away from their initial molecule for MPB currently in trial

    Please god tell Cotsarelis to ask some help and collaboration! a great solution could be not that far away (of course a lot of years of clinical trials, but that would be a real cure in the horizon and we could already live with more peace in our mind hehe)

    Yeah, too many coulda, woulda, shoulda's.. Who the hell knows when or who will cure hairloss let alone treat it. It's a selfish industry and optimism is getting extremely exhausting.

    Hair follicle morphogenesis and regeneration depend on intensive but well-orchestrated interactions between epithelial and mesenchymal components. Therefore, an alternative strategy to reproduce the process of epithelial-mesenchymal interaction in vitro could use a 3D system containing appropriate cell populations. The 3D air-liquid culture system for reproducibly generating hair follicles from dissociated epithelial and dermal papilla (DP) cells combined with a collagen-chitosan scaffold is described in this study. Wnt-CM was prepared from the supernatant of Wnt1a-expressing bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) that maintain the hair-inducing gene expression of DP cells. The collagen-chitosan scaffold cells (CCS cells) were constructed using a two-step method by inoculating the Wnt-CM-treated DP cells and epidermal (EP) cells into the CCS. The cells in the air-liquid culture formed dermal condensates and a proliferative cell layer in vitro. The CCS cells were able to induce hair regeneration in nude mice. The results demonstrate that Wnt-CM can maintain the hair induction ability of DP cells in expansion cultures, and this approach can be used for large-scale preparation of CCS cells in vitro to treat hair loss.

    I wanted to say that Samumed have better knowledge than cotsarelis on how modulate Wnt pathway with a small molecule, and the capacity of create that molecule . ( they already are in phase 2 for mpb, and phase 1 for a pill destinate to cancers patients in final phase, so in my opinion they have better capacities to create what Cotsarelis is missing) Doesn't make sense?

    Well i supposed Follica is failing, maybe not and they're doing their thing under the radar, but in supposition they're failing, I really think Samumed could find the molecule to apply after the wounding skin procedure (and they maybe already have that knowledge since pathway modulating is their only work domain!)
    , when you see that they were taking only Nwd 4,5,6,7 in their 300 patients for phase 2 trial, it gives me hope that they know a lot on Wnt pathway and have powerful drugs, and not that 'early stage of baldness' bullshit

    And yes I make weird sentences formulations cause it's not my native langage

    To add something about Sm drug, look what sarah millar was saying in 2013 :

    Sounds like SM04554, no?

    If it is, that would mean Samumed was in advance of follica's team in understanding the right pathway and how modulate it with the right smalls molecules and went into clinical trials even before Sarah millar publish this study.
    So Hellouser I don't think it's that absurd when I say that Samumed could be in advance in that 'wnt pathway world', and could already have the knowledge to create the molecule that Cotsarelis is missing after is wounding procedure

    They are talking about nude mice. Mice. This does not mean it will work in humans.
