I'm a NW 2.5 and I'm not currently doing anything about it. I'm probably going to start Minox, but I'm wondering what other options I have, considering all the fancy new cutting edge treatments I see people talking about. I'm confused by all the jargon that gets thrown around.

Propecia is no bueno for me, I've tried it.

It looks like my regimen will be:
    -Minox
    -Dermaroller
    -Nizoral

Are there any good supplements to this besides Propecia?

Okay so I'm by no means the most informed here compared to some the guys but I'll gove you some general info on what you can do and hopefully a more knowledgeable user will help out too.

So minox is a good in the sense it's FDA approved and proven to work. However it's a lifetime commitment because the hair it regrows and prelongs the life of will fall out the second you stop using it. People tend to say the foam is easiest to use and use it twice a day, although apparently once a day could be prerry effective if you apply a decent amount.

RU, pretty untested from what I've read and does require a lab coat as you'll be best off making your own which can be annoying. People seem to get great results using this stuff but no one is sure of sides really, I've been reading recently a lot bad things in regard to fin like sides taking place but Im not to sure on their valididity, so this could be a good route if you don't mind being Walter White and taking a gamble.

Spiro S5 and azalic acid. Both of these are meant to kill DHT in the scalp when applied topically, I'd say more people use AA these days than Spiro, although neither seem to have much respect these days, especially Spiro which few consider decent.

OC, I know little about his, just started reading about it yesterday. It's another DIY topical that requires you to make your own. Few to no sides reported though and it deals with hairloss without lowering DHT.
This could be the answer to future treatments and stuff is in development for it, but making your own atm is mega pricey. Although a fair few people are claiming it halted their hairloss dead in its tracks.

There is nothing 100% atm in the hairloss old, it's all a gamble bro. Pick your poison and good luck.

        Awesome post. Thank you.

I've been digging around for info about OC... "OC000459 has demonstrated an excellent safety profile in over 800 subjects..." Cool! ... although I was also assured that Propecia was very safe.

Best case scenario, this stuff will maintain Rogaine-grown hair after stopping rogaine, with no side effects.

It's expensive as hell right now!

Yeah it's pretty expensive. I'd happily pay that price if it all came readily made but it's overkill considering all the other equipment you'd need to purchase to turn your home into a mini lab.
I'll probably end up doing it soon though, i'd rather pay a little money and brush up on my science than risk my erections. (I know I know, stop the fear mongerong about fin, I'm not saying the chances aren't low of getting sides, I'm just saying I'm not even willing to take a risk period.)
So yeah, OC is probably the way forward currently.

Whey protein can substitute, but there's not much that can replace finasteride as a DHT blocker.
