I'm a little confused...did he say that your donor hair wasn't thick (as in fine hair), or that you didn't have sufficient donor hair? Who is your Doctor?

he gave me a prescription for avodart and told me to take that and hopefully my crown fills up. then he would hopefully do the frontal area hopefully. he said its not thick enough.

It might help to ask the doctor exactly what your donor density is. How many follicular units per sq. cm. Most people are candidates for hair transplantation. How good of a candidate depends on a how much hair loss you have, what kind of density you have in the donor area, and what are your expectations. I agree with starting Avodart or Propecia to prevent further hair loss and possibly strengthen your crown area.

yes, my donor density ain't too thick. but its still ok i guess. not enough for full coverage. my question is if there is anyway to make the donor density thicker?

PRP treatment for donor hair
I would try PRP treatment in the donor area. Have your doctor measure your donor density and calculate your hair shaft diameters and the average number of miniaturized hairs in different areas of the donor tissue.
