Terrified Of Coming Off Fin

Hello everyone,

I've been on fin (0.5mg ED) for almost 6 months now. Side effects began mildly and have worsened at around month 4. I can still polish the rifle, but it's not as pleasurable and it doesn't get as hard as it used to.

Like I said, things have worsened and I'd like to get off. I admit I have psyched myself out looking at propeciahelp and PFS...but even in unbiased forums, I read people that quit say stuff like "it's been 7 months off fin and I'm only 80% back to normal."

In fact, I don't really see any posters that have quit fin and have their soldier return to its pre-fin girth and glory. Are you guys out there?

It used to be where, if I slept in one day (taking the pill late), I would already feel it returning to normal until I took the pill...or if I accidentally missed a day. Now, however, if I sleep in and take the pill late, I feel the same limp state as usual. I didn't interpret this as a good sign.

I'm looking for people that have discontinued fin. Did everything return to normal? How long did it take for that to happen? Is this "endocrine system crash" real? Also, how, exactly, should I come off the pill to reintroduce my system to DHT--cold turkey or tapering? Does it matter?

Go onto Saw Paletto for a while after quitting.I wish I'd done that.
I've been off propecia 15months getting back to normal.
It might of all been in my head as I also read propeciahelp.scared the shit out of me.
The really nasty thing I ended up suffering from was insomnia.very badly.
Getting better sleep now,but still have occassions of insomnia.
I can get a hard on,but that side suffered for a while to.

I mention Saw paleto,as when I was on propecia and ran out and had to wait for delivery I went on saw paleto,sometimes for 2-3 weeks,at a time.

I still not sure if it was all in my head.I know thats what my GP thought.He knew what propecia was.

I never had sde effects on propecia or saw paleto.

I made a mistake,maybe of googling 'insomnia propecia' after my first night suffering from insomnia,after being off propecia for two weeks.I found propeciahelp and like I said it scared the shit out of me - I stopped looking at propeciahelp along time ago.

Part of me believes the suffering may of just been in my head,as I started suffering with insomnia only on the same nights every week,as if I'd got it in my head that that was going to happen,but I believe I'll never be sure.

I came off propecia,as I got to an age I believed enough was enough.I now shave my head and try and keep myself fit.

I'm 99% percent back to normal now,I think.
