    Default Voxman on Board

Hello All - Voxman here - long time participant at 'another' board and a frequent visitor here.

I am 65 years old and had my 1st Hair Transplant just last year. So you guys who have been trying to decide for the past 5 or 6 year have got nothing on me!

Seriously, I was Beatle Mop Head in my teens and 20's and when I hit my mid 30's I started slowly receding to an ultimate NW6. I never suffered any sort of social anxiety or depression as my life was too full and rich to really give it a tremendous amount of concern. I have enjoyed a full time career in sales and a part time career in rock'n'roll and I also produce documentary films.

But like everyone else, that reflection in the mirror was always accompanied with a *sigh* and a wish to return to the glory days of Brian Jonesy locks.

I visited many clinics in person and online in the past 20 years - from the mills to the one-off guys, but I settled on Dr. Chao in Redondo Beach. Now, I've read many of his reviews on the boards so I walked into his office with eyes wide open. Of course, I had the obligatory consultation with Rob D'Angelo which was at no time high-pressure, close the deal. Rob was more concerned about MY expectations and whether Dr. Chao was right for me.

By the way, I can be long winded as I am a writer so if you're looking for soft short post, this is not it.

I tell ya, that Rob's got a head full of hair to be proud (probably courtesy of Dr. Chao) and he's a businessman that has found his niche. Flat Rate Pricing may be controversial in some professions - I can see it certainly is in the HT industry - but coming from a contracting service background, it has a lot of advantages and seems to work for these guys.

CAVEAT EMPTOR - Buyer beware - please do your own research and feel confident in it. HairLab's website and social media presence is certainly not all that attractive and is very very generic. It is what it is and as long as Rob and Dr. Chao can properly read their P&L statements and run a clean and lean operation, kudos to them.

Anyway, that all said, I had my FUT on 2/21/2014. The procedure was very smooth, we built a nice age-appropriate (ouch) hairline I was happy with, I had minimal pain, absolutely no swelling, and all the post-op after care was boringly *normal*.

Here 16 months later I am very happy with the results. With a lot of ground to cover, we concentrated in the frontal half and I fully expected to participate in a 2nd procedure by this time , but a small little inconvenience call a 'heart attack' back in February has derailed until next year. Look up 'blood thinners' and '1000's of holes in head' - they are not on the same page, LOL.

Anyway, those of you who know me know I'm here to comment and help and be a general upbeat guy for all MPB sufferers and even a beacon for you older guys.

Welcome to the forum voxman! Dr. Bhatti is obviously a top notch surgeon since he made the IAHRS. Love to see some pictures of your surgery!
