Default How Bright is the future?

    Hi all,

I just wondered if someone would be so kind as to summarise what treatments will be released in the next 1-5 years? I frequently check the forum and do lot's of research but can't seem to find any dates for any new medication.

    Many thanks!

Next 1-5 year FDA approved treatments: finasteride and minoxidil.

Well over the span of thousands of years we've never had a cure and just 20 years ago we got fin and min and those work okayish and medicine is rapidly evolving. We won't have a perrferct cure right oout of the blue but we'll see small milestones like a cure that works for certain responders or a temporary cure. A full cure seems a distance away

There are a lot of things in development that involve fresh new approaches that should be realized by the latter part of this decade or the beginning of the next decade. First and foremost is the setipiprant/bimatoprost combination. Trials should start by the end of this year or the beginning of next year. Replicel is making big progress. Labs are getting better than ever at cloning and multiplying healthy dermal papilla and other cells critical to hair growth and maintenance. Perhaps even regeneration of hair from transplanted areas meaning an unlimited donor supply over time. The days of the simple "DHT + defect androgen receptor = 100% of the cause" dominated theories are over. Certainly it looks like it plays an initiating roll much like a key that unlocks a door but it isn't the direct cause of AGA. The future is extremely bright in my opinion. You won't find dates though, these things take time, and lots of stuff goes on behind the scenes. The human hair cycle is measured in years, so that is how long these trials should/do take to truly see if they are effective.

    @potato1987: Short summerize:
-Setipiprant- end of phase II in the October, then 1-2 years for phase III + waiting for FDA approval = ~2018
    - Bimatoprost - soon, results of recent phase will be next year
    -Follicept- ~2016
-CB - 'Breezula'- 2021 according to official Cosmo pipeline
    - Replicel - 2018 in Japan, phase II will begin this years, phase III will be skipped thanks to new law regulations
-Follica – according to PureTech’s pipeline is under human trials actually
    -Histogen- phase II?
-Piloscopy – new type of HT – soon.
I really can’t understand if someone thinks that nothing will be changed withing next 5 years in this field. It will be revolution!

Anyone who does research and isn't a troll will tell you there are big things coming. There are several treatments in the pipeline. Cling to finasteride and minoxidil until then.

    This is mostly false.

setipiprant- starting phase II poc within a year
bim-results will be released within 6 months. still needs phase III
    follicept-doesn't work
    CB- 2021
replicel-2019 soonest more than likely due to delays
    piloscopy-within a year

**** whats the point of even looking on here then? 2021? thats ages away and that's the closest thing besides bimatoprost? where did you guys see that CB is due for 2021? I thought at least setipiprant might come through before 2018, but if CB is taking til 2021 and is already close to wrapping up phase II, then how are we gonna get setipiprant before then? And who cares about HTs and piloscopy, that shit is horrible and pointless.

the 2021 date is what cosmo put in their investor presentation...to be honest I think they just really aren't trying to push it forward quickly and they know other drugs are going to beat it
