Replicel is economically backed by Shiseido - a huge and stable cosmetic Japanese company, which will also run studies/trials on the same thing. The only thing to doubt here is the time line I think.

Based on the science I have looked over, I am more interested to see what a combination of a strong DP2 receptor blocker, upregulation of PGE2 and PGF2 alpha in combination will do over time. We do not yet know the extent of the ability of prostaglandins to reverse the balding process. It could be a total reversal is possible, perhaps not. If the stem cells are intact you just have to turn them on.

Look at headlines and forum posts from 5 years ago and see what kinds of treatments people said would be out/game changers by now...then come here and see if the hype for these new products is comparable.

Yesteryears hype does not determine the success of science, lol.

With all the new stuff on the way that rely on new approaches I would say nothing is impossible. I think realistically the odds are small, but any of the new stuff like seti or SM could turn out to be a major game changer. The answer is just no one has any clue until all this stuff releases info.
IMO any of the stem cell stuff like hair cloning or multiplication is a long long time away if it comes to that.

This. For the first time in history the answer to the OP's original question actually has a snowballs chance in hell of being "yes." Between Replicel, kythera, sanford-burnham progress, histogen, etc many new fresh approaches are attacking the problem.
