Default Freaking out! Help me, i really need som comments!

    Hello, again.

Last time i posted it was about my hairline. I've been obsessing about hair loss since about new years.

This post is about my crown, when i look in the mirror i can't decide wither it's mpb or cowlick. It's also different from time to time, angle, light etc.

I've been to two hairdressers who said i got nothing too worry about but when i look in the mirror with my camera i get anxious. I've also been to a hair transplant doctor here in Sweden and he said the same as my hairdressers, nothing too worry about.

But i believe that my hairdressers are not professionals regarding mpb so i can't trust them 100%.

Can you please look at my pictures and comment what you think? I chose the "worst" of my pictures taken.

    THANK YOU GUYS!

I don't like to diagnose people but unfortunately it seems like a case of Body Dysmorphic Disorder and you're fixated on balding. I'm guessing when the two hair dressers told you, you have nothing to worry about, you felt calm right? Then started to obsess again. Same with the transplant doctor you probably felt relief and calm after he told you but again you're checking/taking pictures. Same thing here, no matter what anyone says you're going to keep obsessing. If a doctor can tell you you're fine and you still can't stop checking nothing we say will help.

    Thank you for answering.

Yeah, it is like you say. I felt calm and happy when they told me, then i started to think "what if they are wrong?". I have actually made an appointment with a therapist because either way, if i'm loosing my hair or not, i should not be feeling like this.

But what do you say, cow lick or mpb.

(If Artista is reading this thread, i know stressing out about it is not good but i can't help it)

I think you have a good hair and there is nothing to worry about. It is a cowlick, not a MPB.

I agree with all the above comments. There is no MPB.

Your hair seems absolutely fine to me as well, especially if the hairdressers and (most importantly) the Hair Transplant doctor said you have nothing to worry about.

I commend you for getting in touch with a therapist, as I think you could really benefit from it. I had OCD for years and finally decided to seek out therapy and it literally changed my life. Part of my OCD was obsessing about various things (accompanied by compulsions to help keep those negative thoughts away), and the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy really helped turn my life around.

Mention this kind of therapy to your doctor and/or therapist and see if they think that will be good for you. The success rate with this kind of therapy is extremely high and works exceptionally fast as well.

I wish you luck. Message me if you have any specific questions.

I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My opinions/comments are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff.

    Thank you for your answer.

I accually just booked an appointment with a therapist, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy aswell.

I have always been obsessing about various things but nothing like this (my hair obsession).

Like I said, I booked a meeting with my therapist mainly because of my hair obsession but also because wiether I am loosing my hair or not I should not be feeling like this. I really do not recognize my self anymore and my parents say they miss my laugh.

Thank you all for your answers, I wish you the best in life!

Ps. Sorry for my bad english, not my native language.

So, i went to yet another hair transplant doctor (booked a consultation many month ago).

Could you guys help me get some clarification other than the clinics representative?

This was the information i got:

    Norwood:
    NW2

    Hair character:
    Fine

    Density of donor area:
    75/75/80

    Miniaturization:
Approximately 10% at the zone on top of the head.

They told me i was a good candidate for an transplant where i would fill in the temple area.
The Dr. recommended me to start minoxidil twice a day before surgery.. I asked about Finasteride but he said i wasn't so far "gone" to start taking that medication. He said they recommend starting medication if there's 20% miniaturization on the top of the head.

So, this is how i understood the information:
If i decide too go through and do a HT i should start with minoxidil twice a day to strengthen the hair around the transplant area to prevent shock loss.
Because of the doctor did not want me to start on finasteride.. what can i make of that information?

Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to help me out.
