Thinning On Left Side Of Head Only

    Hello, first-time poster here.

I'm a 34-year-old man. When I was 26 I noticed a thinning spot the size of a nickel on my left temple. In the 8 years since, it has gotten progressively worse and there is now more thinning along my temple and on my hairline. Conversely, the right side of my temple and hair line has stayed the same - no thinning whatsoever. And, as far as I can tell, there is no other thinning on the rest of my head.

I do not have a history of male pattern baldness in my family. My father is 70 and he has no hair loss. His father (my grandfather) passed away at 65 with no hair loss. My father's brothers (my uncles) are in their 50s and 60s and all have no hair loss. My mother's father (my grandfather) was estranged from the family, so I didn't get to see him in person, but I saw pictures of him in his 40s with no hair loss (at least until that point in his life).

So what gives? Isn't it unusual to only have MPB on one side of your head? Or any MPB at all considering my family history? Will my right side eventually catch up? Could there be other factors at play?

I have attached some photos. Please excuse the adult acne. Thanks for any input, advice, etc.
