    Default Need some advice, 30 y/o. Pics included

    Hello everybody,

    First of all, english is not my native language so please bear with me.

    Second, this is my situation and its affecting my life in a very bad way. I probably have more hair than some and less than some.

    I need some advice on my hair situation. I'm a 30 year old male who has been "struggling" with high temples since about high school. I've been obsessing about my hair since about january (never even thought about it before then).

    My family history is making me so confused over the outcome of my, probable, upcoming hair loss. Making a list for an easy read;

    Moms side;
    Granddad, full head of har until his 60s then a diffuse thinner. (Always had "fine hair")
    Grandmom, curly hair, little temple recession.
    Uncle 1, fine hair. Receding hair line and vertex thinning in his 50s (maybe later)
    Uncle 2, full head of hair, curly.
    Mom, thin fine hair.

    Dads side;
    Granddad, bald. Probably started in his late 20s.
    Uncle, bald. Noticeable when he was about 25.
    Dad, straght hair, high temples (like me). Full head of hair.

    Brothers;
    3 year older, diffuse thinner. Noticeable at vertex in his early 20s.
    6 years younger, high temples, a little bit diffuse thinner.

    As you can se its like russian roulette... Driving me crazy.

    I will add some pictures of my hair and hairline here and would appreciate some comments like(and i do really need a haircut, i know):

    Am i a HT-candidate?
    Should i start with some medication (my girlfriend hates the idea of me starting finasteride but it is my no.1).
    Me and my girlfriend trying to conceive, should i wait with finasteride?

    I personally think your hair is fine. First of all, you have great density.

    Secondly, your temples don't look like they are receding. They just appear to be the natural curvature of your hair. In other words - they are just normal for how you appear.

    Besides, where your hairline does begin - you got all that floppy dense hair to compensate for your naturally high temples. You're pulling your hair back to expose them, after all.

    *If* your hair at the front becomes less dense, and more thinned out at the front. Then that is the time to act and search for potential treatments. But you're fine at the moment, IMO.

    Thank you for taking time to answer HairRequired!

    About all that floppy dense hair, haha. I hate the idea of covering my temples, always have. Will cut my hair shorter next time, maybe even buzz it with fade. What du you guys think of buzzcuts on folks with my hairline?

    It looks like you have a mature hairline; very common at your age, which doesn't necessarily means you will go bald.

    Are you shedding more than usual every day after showering or do you see a lot more hair in the pillow after waking up? if you are not I would try not to worry too much since your hair still looks more than fine

    Fin is the most effective product against hair loss but your girlfriend is right about being cautious, since sides are not a myth for sure, however many people take it without mayor inconvenience. So if your hair loss progresses you could give it a try and discontinue if any sides appear.

    Another option is minoxidil (rogaine) not nearly as affective but sides are nothing in comparison to fin. I have been using it for a while and for sure it has helped

    In your situation I would never consider a hair transplant, again I think your hair looks fine and even if you find a doctor that can perform a good procedure (and there are very few in the world) you might lose a bit more hair over time and end up looking very odd

    Finally, I don't know if a buzzcut will help, you can cut it shorter but allow some hair to cover part of your forehead since getting such a short haircut will make your mature hairline more noticeable

    Thank you for your answer "efedrez".

    I don't think i am shedding.. Never find more than a couple of hairs on my pillow in the morning, sometimes nothing. In the shower theres probably around 10-15 visible hairs. Guess that is kind of natural.

    About the buzzcut and my forehead, i don't mind showing the world my temples.. but i understand what kind of haircut you mean and i will consider it since my gf dont want me to buzz (whipped).

    Anyone else got some comments? Do you think its mpb or a mature hairline?

    Anyone who can relate to my situation?

    I really appreciate if you take some time to look and comment.
