How long is the post minoxidil shed?

Had to quit minoxidil after like two years of use because I somehow developed seb dermatitis.. I only applied it on my hairline during this time and I was wondering if anyone has quit and how long this shed last after?!?! It's been 7 months and I lose like 30 hairs showering and anytime I run my hands through my hair, about 3-4. Also, even the top of my scalp is thinner now and shedding a lot even though minox never touched this area... Is this normal for this type of shed?

I quit Minoxidil in August 2014 after 7 years of use. I stopped shedding around January or February 2015. So, that was six or seven months after I stopped.

Like you, I shed mainly where I applied minoxidil, but also in adjacent areas.

Hopefully you will stop shedding soon.

The good news is that minoxidil shedding does end for most men. It typically only occurs at the beginning of your treatment. To be more specific, research shows that it generally starts two to eight weeks after beginning the treatment. After that, the shedding should subside.
