Finasteride possibly not working for me?
I have been on 1mg finasteride since 19th October 2014. Based on the oct 2014 and may 2015 pictures would you say that maybe it isn't going to work for me? I still see many hairs on my pillow each morning and hairs in the shower I only have to so much as put gel in my hair to have hairs fall off into my fingers
Thanks for your advise.

Many people say that it takes at least 12 months for you to start seeing results from taking finasteride.
So, it is better for you to make an evaluation about if it is working for you in October 2015, not now.

I see improvement in the upper crown?

It looks fuller to me, but your hair is wetter in the early photos, give it more time... it might fill in.

Sometimes it takes a while to show. I was on RU for over a year before I saw any improvement, the shedding was bad then it just stopped and my hair got thicker.

Thanks for your replies I hold out hope. I was stressing about my hair getting worse which probably doesn't help the situation. Now I know I should wait a year before jumping to conclusions I hopefully won't worry as much.
KO1 and Localguy - Do you really think that you can see a slight improvement in my May 2015 photos?
Brocktherock - What is RU?

My son's been on finasteride for 16 months and isn't noticing a reduction in his shedding (although he did say when he stopped it for a week, he shed even more). I can see that his temples have receded a bit more, so our next step may be Dut. I think your first picture looks identical to the last one, so at least you seem to be maintaining your hair, if nothing else. I'd give it a good year to assess your results. Also, maybe add minoxidil to your regimen.

I'm happy just to maintain what I have. To me it looks worse now but it's so hard to be objective when it's your own hair. If I manage to maintain what I have now I guess I could always save up and get a hair transplant later I even saw transplants being offered on Groupon once :O

I think it is working quite well and the improvement seems apparent to me, but even if you feel it is not you'd probably be worse without it. You should be fine.

I would not have high expectations for temporal recession with fin. That is fins weak point...
