Default Newbie starting full Minoxidil regimen!

    Hi all,

New here. Mid -20s, have finally I have significant MPB at frontal hairline, receding temples, and minimal crown.

My dermatologist refused to let me go on Fin until I tried out minoxidil for a while. I wanted some advice on a fully effective minoxidil regimen.

I will for sure use 5% foam twice a day. Are there any other minoxidil products to augment with? Is there an effective shampoo worth using?

thanks so much for helping out a newbie

go to a family doctor and they can give you fin. don't wait on the fin. get on it asap. and use the minox liquid, the foam is crap.

Could be a reason why the dermatologist refused to give Fin?

yeaaaa....the side effects duh. but u will never know u get them until u try. minox is obvious the safer first choice to start out with with, but if his hairless if aggressive as the user claims, plain ole minox by itself is not going to stop it

    Thanks for the responses.

I am willing to try minoxidil for a bit before starting fin. But I am wondering, does anyone have any results for frontal hairline and temple loss on minoxidil??? This is where 99% of my loss is I believe...

yes it can, esp if the hairloss is new....too far gone decreases your chances. just try it and see. BUT, if your balding is too aggressive (too much DHT in the scalp) all the minox in the world won't help you, hence u need to be on fin. do some research and read up

Nope. Using more minox than the recommended foam amount isn't going to give you better results, no matter how you're getting it.

As for results, I'm pretty sure there have been pretty good ones for even the frontal area posted here, but it's not at all common. Impossible? No. Likely? No. Personally all it's done for me is possibly slow down my loss a bit.

Minox didn't help my frontal hairline at all, it did give me bloated face though (a fairly common sideeffect), so please keep an eye on that.

An alternative to fin is the topical usage of RU-58841. I have been using RU only for 3 months and it is filling in my hairline. It really works and i have experienced zero side effects.

    Good luck

Thanks for the response. Could you tell me more about RU-58841, or could anyone else? Your success is very encouraging. It is completely topical? Does one need a prescription to obtain it, and where can one get it? I've never heard of that...

Here is the Complete RU58841 Usage Guide: https://www.baldtruthtalk.com/showth...41-Usage-Guide

It has alot of useful info, however I dont really want to bother with the measuring and mixing so i buy the premade solution from anageninc: http://anageninc.com/on-sale/ru58841-solution-50ml.html

I get the 5% one in K&B Solution, its less harsh than the PG + Ethanol which irritates my scalp. Of that I use 1 ml a day on my hairline, and after 3 months I see many new dark hairs at the front.

Its not as cheap as FIN, but i definitely prefer the non-systemic nature of it.
