How has finasteride treated you?
Who on here that has been on fin for 8+ months has experienced...
A - decrease in shedding and hair regrowth
B - decrease in shedding and hair maintenance
c - increase shedding followed by hair regrowth
d - increase in shedding and hair loss
e - stopped because of sides
I am just trying to get some honest info from real people. Any additional info (sides, location of regrowth, etc...) is truly appreciated.

Everyone reacts differently. What happens to the majority of people that respond to your thread may not happen to you.

B - decrease in shedding and hair maintenance.....But took me a good 1 year to stabalise.
Good luck with getting opinions seems most people who log in here are only interested in future treatments section. I have asked for some info on oily scalp treatment and didnt get one reply.

Well you know how I am doing. 4+ months on fin. By now still crazy shedding, thinking about quitting... But have not decided yet.

B on behalf of my husband too. He has been on propecia for quite a long time now and getting good results. May be he has started it in early stages so it has arrested further loss to great extent.

I just wanted to elaborate on my own answer. Finasteride has definitely stabilised my hair in that my hairline has stopped receding and hasn't noticeably worsened. Many people state that they experience thickening to existing hair. I don't think this has really been the case with me. Everything has stayed fairly constant. My dosage is 0.5 mg EOD though which is a shame because I'm not willing to increase my dosage. Hope that helps.
