Am I receding at my hairline?

In the first Pic, I am 16 years old. In the latter pic, I am here at 19 years old.

I'm just wondering if my hairline seems a bit more sparse now or as though it has moved up. I cannot tell as I have only been recently watching my hairline.

I had a haircut a month ago, and I guess with the extra weight off, I noticed I could see the tip of my scalp in good light and I noticed what seemed to be lots of flyaway & baby hairs in the front, which I doubt are anything more than just that. The do make my hair look less dense, I do believe.

Baby hairs is a sign of receding hairline. It also does look like your hairline has receded.

What's the hair condition of your father, and your mothers father, perhaps her bothers?

I am too late to edit my own post, so I guess Ill be bumping with another:
      I'll not reply further:

But your family's males should reveal how it will go with you. Keep a closer eye on it.

There is currently no cure for hair loss, treatments involve medically altering your hormone levels (Propecia inhibits testosterone converting to dihydrotestosterone) and hair transplants. That's pretty much it. If you decide to opt for either or both in the future do yourself a favor and research them vigorously before making your decision.

        HELLO Nic19!

Its a good thing that you came here to THIS forum...There are plenty of members here that will speak objectively with you on this matter.

My first thought is to say that , it is POSSIBLE that what you are experiencing is ONLY a natural MATURING of your hairline-and that all.
Its also possible that you may eventually loose a percentage of your hair and NOT a complete balding of your head.
No one can know for sure.
I must tell you this as well....
Do not ALLOW yourself to become STRESSED out over your hairline or for anything else.
The reason being that STRESS COULD possibly cause much more hair loss.
I know that by personal EXPERIENCE my friend.
One of the LUCKY things about your life and others at your YOUNG age is this,
There is NO DOUBT that eventually much BETTER and INNOVATIVE treatments will be available for hairloss.
Possibly some type of cure as well..Of course you should NEVER hold your breath waiting for a cure...
        when it happens~it happens.

Back to your point- Your hair , from that recent pic, LOOKS A-OK!
It seems like it might be just a maturing hairline. No one could know for sure, and Im assuming that the only issue of your hair that you see is at the front hairline ...

I am quite sure that YOU are the only one that 'notices' a difference in your hair.
Live your life in a POSITIVE LIGHT bro!
You are going to be OK.

Ive been freaking out dude. I see what a beautiful head i had and i cant wrap my mind around letting it go. It does seem whispy at the front to a small degree, bit it does fall within the 5 to 8 cm range that a mature hairline should.most of my lineage is pretty hairy, so until recently, i didnt think of baldness as a serious possibility.

Oh my,,do NOT freak-out,or become STRESSED out Nic
There is no need to be that way. STOP focusing so much on your hair...Stress CAN hurt your hair!!
As Ive said, your hair looks OK ... stress will cause problems bro.

I am sure that no one around you sees a bad difference nor do they talk about it behind your back.
            Live your life my friend...
pick up some 'Rogaine' , pick up Biotin, a B-vitamin supplement .
Biotin is a great supplement to take every day.
            Hair loss docs recommend it.
Shampoo for hair loss would be Nizoral 2% ,its effective dude.

You will improve your hair with these uses.

Ok. I notice a huge patch of flyaways on my left side of hairline and temple. This is the side of my head i usually sleep on. Also, at the edge of this patch is a small group of hairs that dont quite work with my part. Theyre in the tip of my line and seem to make my tip seem thin when i pull my hair back. I imagine theyre hairs that were broken off in a ponytail.

Also, just beyond this, everything seems ok.

Yeah seems to have receded a bit but the two pictures are taken in different perspectives so you can't say how bad the situation actually is. In my eyes it still looks fine, best thing would be to jump on finasteride, minoxidil and ketoconazol. I'm not so sure whether adding Biotin is going to do a lot for you but hey, it's really cheap so why the hell not?
