Default Dr Bessam Farjo, Manchester, 1,500 Grafts.

Here are my results so far of my procedure by Dr Bessam Farjo and his team in Manchester, plus a brief description of my experience. The results are early and it’s my first procedure but I’m confident I’ve made the right surgeon choice and I’m very happy so far. The contour and symmetry of my new hairline along with the natural spacing, placing, equal transplanted hair height and natural angle of the hairs to me looks like my scalp is sporting a true work of art.

I am equally impressed by the in-house workings of Farjo Hair Institute, admittedly I wasn’t sure what to expect but the obvious natural cohesion between Dr Fargo and his team made me feel very assured, they’re like a real family, working in a unhurried, orderly and professional manner which was nice to be at the centre of. Dr Farjo and every technician were highly informative about the stages and needs of my procedure from start to finish which confirmed to me that I was being dealt with in a very precise and individual way by everybody involved.

My donor site is healing nicely after less than 24 hours (photo) and my recipient area feels a little tight and itchy but the swelling has almost totally disappeared so I assume that’s going well too. I’ll keep this thread updated with photos of my progress.

Sorry about the neck cricking photos, they were agonising to upload only for them to end up like that, hopefully somebody will be along to moderate and adjust.

Here's my photo 1 month post op, next week I'll be at the 2 month stage so I'll update then. Had a few patches in my donor area that were sore and slow to heal but after the 6 week stage I was back to normal with it looking and feeling as it was before.
My recipient site is still a little red and it's still slightly obvious there's something going on. Quite a lot of the grafted hairs are still sat in position which of course is adding to the area looking darker, I guess thicker new growth will eventually push them out.
Many of the new hairs have started to grow really nicely, they're growing thicker and faster the closer they are to my un-transplanted original hair, so they're growing in an outward fashion which is changing my previously 'Platypus bill' shaped hair line into the shape of an anchor, if that makes sense.

Thanks J B, I'm feeling good if a little impatient waiting for the final result. I have full coverage in my recipient site but it's all fine hair so still lots of progress to make but I'm quite confident I'll have a good result.

    Hi Mark,

Looks like you're well on the way to a solid result there. I'm considering a procedure with Dr Farjo myself at the moment - how was your experience with the aftercare? Were they open to having you return to the clinic for washing, etc?

    Cheers!
