Did you just lose a lot of hair? Or did you have pain on your scalp, itching, etc..

I had the same thing happen. Hair was a v and after a year on propecia my left side died.. Lost like 50% and it's still shedding and my hair was burning and scalp hurt. I'm seeing another derm and I'm gonna ask if I truly should quit.

If something happens with hair receptors or the spike in T levels causes an issue for MPB with propecia its certainly a very rare thing. Lots of people take it without issues. Its just probabilities and odds are in your favor of something positive verses something negative. If you dont believe in statistics or odds than dont take it but there is a small chance you get a problem its always there with internal drug

Yeah my scalp pain has subsided, but my hair is shredded. I have a lot of hair but it's very fine so that shed killed my hairline and behind. Propecia isn't for everyone and I read all the stories going into this thinking it wouldn't happen to me. It didn't do anything until the one year mark when I had a massive shed, scalp pain,etc.. No hair has grown back from it and it's 8 months later (20months in total). Get hormone levels checked because my derm didn't do it with me for some idiotic reason and now I have no baseline.

If you've been on it for 1 year and it's made things worse then yeah I'd say come off it.

Given the amount of unknowns in MPB and the body in general its pretty hard for me to swallow when someone says propecia cant do something. How do you know that? I would agree there is no evidence suggesting it does, but the study didnt include every man on the planet and everyone is slightly different. Its possible, but very unlikely.
The evidence is propecia should help your hair everywhere on your head and not hurt it. You cant rule out natural progression which can change speeds by itself.
