Default Any one know of Dr. mike vories ?

I want to get a transplant but I'm 24 and would like to have fue. His prices are very VERY good. I want to restore and strengthen my hairline and behind it, but want to be able to shave sides of my head and what not. Anyway, has anyone heard of him?

There a several IAHRS doctors that are known for doing great FUE. Dr. John Cole is one that comes to mind. If I were you I would not be overly concerned with price at first. Find someone who has a very good track record and who is in the IAHRS. Then I’m sure you can talk to them about price. Never let price be your determining factor and make sure you get to speak with or even meet with patients before making a decision. I have not heard too much about the doctor you are asking about. You might be too young for hair transplant anyway so do as much research as possible.

I'm pretty sure Vories is IAHRS. I've just never seen his results or any reviews around on the forums.

I've heard good things about him on another forum that I use. There was an entire thread just this afternoon about him and his results, and it seems he has a pretty good track record.

Private message me if you're interested about the other board and I'll give you a link to the post.

I am a patient advocate for Dr. Parsa Mohebi in Los Angeles, CA. My opinions/comments are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Dr. Mohebi and his staff.

Cole is $10 a grafts makes me LOL!!!! Vories work is just as good if not better at $4 a graft.... if fact, since Cole is NOT aggressive with his hairlines like Vories is id chose Vories over him even if they were the same price.

He doesn't come to mind to me!

I'm just one of the numerous patients who had a bad experience with Dr. Cole. I'm a repair patient so my situation is different than yours, but I don't believe that Dr. Cole treated me honestly or ethically. And in that case, it doesn't matter who the patient is or what techniques the doctor uses.

Based on publically available info, and analysis of various postings regarding multiple docs (good or bad), I think Dr Vories looks like a great choice. For North American FUE, his price is reasonable and i think his surgical protocol is on point where he does the extractions and incisions himself and does work on you only vs multiple patients. I think it plays a big role when it comes to patient safety. It seems it is quite rare to have such personalized surgical FUE services in North America, but I guess he is probably the very very few who follow such a protocol and offer it at low rate per graft in comparison to the NA FUE market overall.

Have you gone through any more consultations? It may be worthwhile to send and get opinions from various FUE specialists who are are hands on with the incisions and extractions? Just to gather different estimates and figure out which plan is good for you.

Are you strictly considering US or even outside?

I'll say a few things that I think you should carefully consider. In fact, it is my opinion that this is IMPERATIVE information for you to research. First, never let price be the deciding or dictating factor. Find the right doctor THEN discuss price. If you find one location with a price that is significantly lower than the nearest several competitors there could be a good reason why. If you find a doctor that you like but the price is out of your budget approach the doctor and discuss the option for discounts. Every doctor on the planet will lower their price for a variety of reasons. Whether they reduce the price enough is another issue but cross that bridge when you come to it. In other words, exhaust all options for going to the doctor of your choice regardless of the initial price because it may work out to your favor in the end.

Second, get assessments from ten clinics before you decide on anyone in particular. You must weigh the pros and cons of each. Take your time to look at each assessment logically and don't hesitate to continue asking questions.

On to the most important points; here are a few questions to ask doctors you are considering. I encourage you to ask these questions and then report back on this thread what the answers are.

    1. Does the doctor wear a mask during surgery? This is important because while some doctors may say that their local regulations do not require it they are overlooking the simple fact that the use of surical masks is still logical during actual surgeries for a number of reasons. For instance, what happens if your doctor sneezes or coughs or even chews gum open mouth while you are laying down with a dozen square centimeters of open wound tissue right below his mouth and nose? His saliva, germs and viruses will be transmitted to you into your open wounds. Sounds great, doesn't it?

    2. Has there ever been an instance where a case was presented with a set of before and after photos and the result may not have been derived purely from surgical means? In other words, were results shown that had Toppik, Dermatch or other forms of concealers to make a a result look better than what would be expected for the # of grafts applied to the NW level? Obviously this is not a question that would be answered honestly but rather is a question you must ask yourself when you look at results. With each result you see ask yourself if the result seem reasonable. If the answer is no then there is probably a logical reason for this.

    3. Has the doctor you are considering had any disciplinary actions taken against them by their local medical board and/or any other disciplinary organization for any reason?

I HIGHLY suggest you take the name of any and every doctor you are considering and perform two key Google searches followed by BOTH of the following terms:

    A. (doctor name) medical fraud. Look at the results and make note of any negative results.

    B. (doctor name) medical complaint. Look at the results and make note of any negative results.

If you find anything negative after either or both searches then factor that into your decision and ask yourself if these issues are enough to dissuade you from considering that particular doctor.

These are but a few of the things you should know about but they are very important. Continue your research and if you have further questions feel freel to ask them here.
