How bad is it Doc? Mature Hairline or MPB?

Hi everyone, and thank you in advance for any help. Well for starters i'm 22 years old and about month ago or so a family member commented that it looked like was thinning up top when I pulled my hair back. So of course I've been paranoid about this since. I wear my hear down over my forehead, so I never really noticed anything and it makes it more difficult to compare with old photos. I have not noticed any unusual shedding. But upon recent inspection the hairs nearest my hairline do appear somewhat thinner. So what are all your thoughts? Is it the start of balding or just a mature hairline?

    Thanks,

I think its just mature hairline by seeing the pics .bt it could be an early stage of balding.so i suggest u keep a close eye for 5 months and click photos of ur hair every 15 days.if its same then it just mature hairline .. I SAY KEEP A WATCH ON IT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE. you can also check by very lightly pulling the hair in that area. Try it 15 times .these is what doctor will do to test.. if you get hair above 8 times it could be that u are balding .. if so visit a doctor at once..

If testing after a shower, then probably 0~2 times of getting hair.
If you pull right after you wake up and over 24 hours without washing hairs, 8 times is possible.
      What's the standard timing?

urs is a good question and i have an answer to it ..first u don't test after shower bcs u can get more hair if u pull right after shover .. i dont know how u said 0-2 hair will fall...its better if u try it like after your hair is dried and after 2 hours of that time whenever you want .

Thank you for the quick replies. I tried the "pull" test as I understood it, and no hair came out, though I wasn't pulling hard. But thats good.

          Any other opinions?

To me it does look like there's some miniaturisation and thinning going on in your hair line (front as well as in your temples). Do you have any family history of balding? If you feel that you're not losing a lot of hair every day I'd say you can keep a close eye on it by taking pictures every month. However, if you feel like you're shedding quite a lot, then I'd say now is a good time to start treatments.

              Vineyard,
I think Illusion is correct. I would suggest you see a hair restoration specialist and save as much of your own hair as you can by starting medical treatment. You should wait 2-3 years after stabilization before you consider a hair restoration procedure.

Yes, there is a history of baldness in my family. My father started noticeably balding in his mid-40s and his father is bald, but I do not know when that happened to him. My other grandfather had most of his hair, but his son is bald and likely lost it in his 20s.

                Thank you all again,

So today I visited a dermatologist regarding my hair. i had a blood test taken, and should expect the results later this week. He was there briefly, but he did the hair pull test but didnt really say anything. The Dr. at first talked about Finasteride, mentioned the possibility of ED and possibly depression, so he did not recommend it. Instead he recommended minodoxil 5%.

I was just looking for your opinions.
                  Thanks

Here are some updated pictures. (I did get a haircut about a week ago)
