    not sure what the article tries to say but i thought this could be interesting. could this be the missing puzzle why cultured DP cells in a dish lose their inductivity/gene expression?

    I think this is pretty good news, but if we want to know better someone should call the Rockefeller University and speak with them.
    Like we see science about stem cells is evolving every day.

    I remember I e-mailed Rockefeller University years ago about some of their findings. Except they seem all too typical of "researchers" today: test on mice endlessly without bringing anything to human application.

    Look just how heart stem cell science move forward these days. New born generations will be happy when they grown up, because a lot of hard diseased that are now hard to cure will be just ordinary treatment.

    Interestingly, Sox9 also involved with PGD2 feedforward loop.

    I think if we stop taking propicia rogain spending money on laser devises hair peaces stop spending money on hair transplant in one year the cure will be there a peace of mind

    Okay it seems that this finding would be useful to Dr. Christiano's team. They are growing hair follicles in vitro and have problems with gene expression. Maybe by adding Sox9 as the transcription factor to the 3D matrix where they are culturing cells, they would get better gene expression. However in order to do that they would hav to add some protien ****tail because it appears Sox9 draws out the other proteins:
    Then, Sox9 recruits other proteins that work together to give these "stemness" genes a boost, amplifying their expression," says study author Elaine Fuchs, Rebecca C. Lancefield Professor, Robin Chemers Neustein Laboratory of Mammalian Cell Biology and Development. "Without Sox9, this process never happens, and hair follicle stem cells cannot survive."
    That said this shows that we are still stumbling in the dark here, supposedly there are other transcription factors and proteins involved with the stem cell plasticity:
    "Importantly, we link this pioneer factor to super-enhancer dynamics, giving these domains a 'one-two punch' in governing cell identity. In the case of stem cell plasticity, Sox9 appears to be the lead factor that activates the super-enhancers that amplify genes associated with stemness," Fuchs says. "These discoveries offer new insights into the way in which stem cells choose their fates and maintain plasticity while in transitional states, such as in culture or when repairing wounds."
    However this is one of the most important factors and it might be enough.
